What is TOEFL ITP ?
TOEFL ITP or TOEFL Institutional Testing Program by Educational Testing Service (ETS), USA evaluates your academic English language proficiency. It is a paper-based test required by many organizations and universities for recruitment purposes. The TOEFL ITP test comprises 2 levels: Level 1 (intermediate to advanced) and Level 2 (high beginning to intermediate). However, only Level 1 is available in Thailand. The Level 1 test includes:
1. Listening comprehension: 50 questions 35 minutes. It evaluates your listening skills.
2. Structure and Written Expression: 40 questions 25 minutes. It evaluates your grammar and language use.
3. Reading Comprehension: 50 questions 55 minutes. It evaluates your ability to read academic passages.
Totally, the test consists of 140 questions with 115 minutes. The scores range from 310 – 677.
When and where can I take the TOEFL ITP test?
There are many authorized test centers for example, National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), KU Language Center Kasetsart University, Language Institute Chiang Mai University, Mahidol University, and language-related or study-overseas institutes. The test frequency varies from being held every day to 2-3 times a month.

TOEFL ITP Registration process
Since TOEFL ITP has become popular and has many test centers, the form and registration process might be different in each test center. Unlike TOEFL iBT, TOEFL ITP has no centralized registration system so there might be some differences in each test center system.
In Thailand, Most TOEFL ITP test centers are universities and private sectors where test takers can choose where they want to take the test. To provide more information about TOEFL ITP, we summarize registration processes in each center into 3 forms as following;
- 1st form – The most popular registration. Many test centers apply this form. Test takers enroll on the test center website and transfer money to the test center account. After finishing the payment, send the payment slip to the email and wait for the confirmation from the test center.
- 2nd form – Self registration and payment at the test center
- 3rd form – Line Official registration. In this form, test takers will do the payment by money transfer or other method and send the payment slip back to the line official and wait for the confirmation email.
To sum up, although there are several registration forms in each test center, the process is not complicated. Test takers can directly contact each test center if there are any problems during the registration.
