IGCSE is the abbreviation of International General Certificate of Secondary Education. It is world most popular international certification for end of secondary school (equivalent to O-Level, UK GCSE, fifth form or year 11 in respective countries and schools). The test has UK international standard. Students have to select 5 subjects; 3 subjects consisting of basic listening, speaking, writing, and other 2 subjects depending on skill and ability. The subjects can be core or extended subjects. The core subjects have easier standard but you will only receive grade C,D,E,F,G. If you select extended subjects, you will receive A,B,C,D,E,F,G. You should be careful when selecting the subjects. After you pass 5 subjects, you have to select 5 subjects with Grade C or above and submit to Ministry of Education then you will receive secondary education certification.

If you want to use IGCSE grade to apply for international programs aboard, you must study each university requirements. Some universities require Grade A in specific subject and some universities only IGCSE grade may be not enough. Therefore, you should carefully study the requirements.

What is IGCSE

Overview IGCSE

IGCSE is a secondary education test system. Students who take this test are between 15-17 years old. You may be never study some subjects before. You must understand scope and details of each subject and do lesson practices to make sure you clearly understand those subjects. Compare IGCSE and SAT

IGCSE is a test for high school students to confirm that you are qualified to finish your high school education. SAT is a test for admission, you need SAT to apply for international programs in Thailand. The tests are much alike in major subjects such as Mathematics and English. SAT is more difficult because there is time limited and SAT requires more cautious when doing the test. As SAT is used for admission, it will test that you have enough knowledge to study in universities or not. Moreover, if your answer is wrong, your score will be deducted. Test techniques are also different.

What should I do after I got IGCSE grade?

When you pass all 5 subjects and receive grade C or above, you need to submit the scores to Ministry of Education. The certification process takes about 15 days. You may receive a copy of the certification first and receive the original one later. Some universities allow you to use the copy certification but some universities are not.

If you get good grades in any IGCSE subject, it is absolutely a good start for your university life. Because the subjects you select for the test are also subjects you are going to study in university. So, if you get grade A or B, you will have more advantage and have no problems in your university study.

Then you enter your candidate ID and secret number from your confirmation of entry. After that, you can enter your email address and choose a password.
