1. There is….. / Here is…… และ There are….. / Here are…….
การจะใช้กริยา is / are (was / were) นั้น หากขึ้นต้นด้วยThere หรือ Here แล้ว ให้สังเกตจากคำนามที่ตามมาข้างหลัง ถ้าเป็นนามพหูพจน์ใช้are (were) ถ้าเป็นนามเอกพจน์ใช้ is (was)
2. A couple , Several, Many, Both + คำนามพหูพจน์ + กริยาพหูพจน์
A couple / Several / Many / Both ล้วนแล้วแต่มีความหมายเป็นพหูพจน์ ดังนั้นสิ่งที่ตามมาต้องเป็นพหูพจน์ค่ะ
แต่ถ้า Many a + ตำนามเอกพจน์ + กริยาเอกพจน์
เพราะถ้ามี “a” มาด้วยแปลว่าเป็นเอกพจน์ ก็ต้องเป็นกริยาเอกพจน์นะคะ
3. A number of + คำนามพหูพจน์ + กริยาพหูพจน์
The number of + คำนามพหูพจน์ + กริยาเอกพจน์
การใช้ A number of และ The number of ต้องระวังอย่าสับสนกันนะคะ ต่างกันแค่ตัวด้านหน้า แต่กริยาต่างกันเลยนะคะทุกคน
