คำว่า Infinitive คือ Verb ที่ไม่ “ผัน” โดยลักษณะของ Infinitive ที่พบเจอมี 2 ประเภทค่ะ
1. To + Infinitive
2. Infinitive without to
โดยมีหลักการใช้ ดังนี้ค่ะ
1. ใช้ To + Infinitive ตามหลังกริยาช่วยบางตัว เช่น ought, used, have, be , dare, need
2. ใช้ To + Infinitive หลัง adjective
3. ใช้ To + Infinitive หลังกริยาต่อไปนี้ remember, promise, begin, learn, hate, agree, like, forget, attempt, manage, seem, decide, allow
4. ใช้ To + Infinitive หลัง how, where, when, what
5. ใช้ To + Infinitive หลัง about , only
6. ใช้ Infinitive อย่างเดียว ตามหลังกริยาช่วยต่อไปนี้ can, could, may, might, will, would, shall, should, do
7. ใช้ Infinitive อย่างเดียว ตามหลังกริยารับรู้ความรู้สึก เช่น feel, hear, taste, smell
8. ใช้ Infinitive อย่างเดียว ตามหลัง make, let
