Subordinating Conjunction คือ คำสันธานเพื่อใช้เชื่อมประโยคหลัก (Main Clause) กับประโยคย่อย หรืออนุประโยค (Subordinate Clause) ที่มีความสำคัญไม่เท่ากัน (บางคนอาจเรียกเป็น คำอนุสันธาน) ให้เกิดความสมบูรณ์ของเนื้อหา

การใช้ Subordinating Conjunction
อย่างที่อธิบายไปว่า Subordinating Conjunction จะใช้เพื่อเชื่อมประโยคหลักกับประโยคย่อยที่ลำดับความสำคัญไม่เท่ากันให้มีเนื้อหาสอดคล้องต่อเนื่อง สามารถแบ่งการใช้ออกได้เป็น 2 รูปแบบ ดังนี้
แบบที่ 1: S + V + SC + S + V
แบบที่ 2: SC + S + V, S + V
ทั้งนี้ยังสามารถแยกกลุ่มคำเพื่อการใช้งานตามความเหมาะสมของประโยค ได้แก่
